Andrew MacLeod is a Visiting Professor at Kings College London, an Affiliate Senior Associate to the Centre for Strategic International Studies in Washington DC, a Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellow at Deakin University and a visiting Senior Lecturer to University of Tasmania Law School.
MacLeod leads Griffin Law as Non-Executive Chairman. He is Non-Executive Director at Cornerstone Capital where he is part of the founding team overseeing growth from start-up to stability. MacLeod maintains several senior corporate and charity advisory roles including Swags for the Homeless, The Big Issue and Backpack Beds USA.

Imagine this: A huge earthquake strikes a remote region of Pakistan. 3.5 million people are made homeless in 90 seconds and you are tasked with keeping them all alive during a six-month Himalayan winter in an area infested by Islamic extremists. Andrew MacLeod will share lessons applicable to business and life from his experience as UN Chief of Operations in the Pakistan Earthquake crisis and from the Bosnian War and Rwandan tragedies of the 1990s.

CEO of Good Super , former CEO of the Melbourne Committee, former Senior United Nations Aid official, business leader, author and speaker, Andrew MacLeod currently sits on the board of New York based Cornerstone Capital, the Sustainable Accounting Advisory Board, the steering committee of the World Economic Forum ‘Future of Civil Society’ project, the UN’s Expert Group on Responsible Business and Investment in High-Risk Areas, the King’s College Humanitarian Futures Program advisory board as well as numerous charities. MacLeod also maintains a Commission as an Officer in the Australian Army (now reserve).
Andrew MacLeod was previously General Manager Community, Communications and External Relations for global giant Rio Tinto, covering economies and communities as diverse as Mongolia, United States, South Africa, Australia, Peru and others, giving him true global exposure. Prior to that MacLeod was CEO of the Committee for Melbourne.
Earlier Andrew MacLeod was a high level UN official and Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in conflict and natural disaster zones as diverse as Rwanda, Yugoslavia, Pakistan and others, most notably acting as Chief of Operations to the United Nations response in the 2005 Pakistan Earthquake.
Andrew MacLeod’s current charitable work includes serving as a patron of ‘Swags for the Homeless’, Ambassador for the Victorian Youth Mentoring Alliance, founding Chairman of the United Nations Principles for Social Investment and an advisor to The Big Issue Australia.
DECORATIONS
Andrew MacLeod received the Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal by Australia for work in the Balkans and was awarded a second time for work in Rwanda. He received the Australian Defence Medal for service as an officer in the Australian Infantry. He was awarded the Silver Medal for Humanity from the Montenegrin Red Cross and was recognised by the Australian Government for his work in East Timor. Andrew MacLeod was also recognised with the Australian Davos Connection Leadership Award.
