Book Tony Pilkington MC: Radio Hall of Fame Legend and Professional Host
Event organisers who book Tony Pilkington MC secure one of Australia’s most celebrated radio broadcasters, whose career behind the microphone spans more than four decades. Tony Pilkington is best known as one half of “Bazz and Pilko”, the legendary breakfast radio partnership with Barry Ion that dominated Australian airwaves from the mid-1970s through the 1990s.
The Bazz and Pilko show began in Adelaide in 1976, moved to Sydney in 1985, and returned to Adelaide in 1991, where the pair achieved the highest rating of any radio show in Australian history, an extraordinary 42.3 per cent audience share in November 1982, a record that has never been surpassed. Tony went on to broadcast at Adelaide’s 5AA until his first retirement in 2010, before returning to Adelaide radio and finally retiring for good in December 2022. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the industry, Tony was inducted into the Australian Commercial Radio Hall of Fame in 2011.
As an MC and corporate host, Tony brings the same quick wit, warmth and effortless audience rapport that made him a broadcasting icon to conferences, gala dinners, award nights and corporate functions across the country. Decades spent thinking on his feet live on air have given him an unmatched ability to read a room, keep an event moving smoothly and ensure every guest feels part of the occasion.
Tony’s genuine charm, deep broadcasting experience and instantly recognisable voice make him a trusted and memorable choice for organisations wanting a seasoned professional at the helm of their event. Whether hosting an intimate corporate function or a large-scale gala, Tony’s natural warmth and impeccable timing ensure a polished, entertaining event from start to finish. Based in Adelaide, Tony is available to MC corporate events across Australia.
