Description
Courtney Ugle motivational speaker sessions come from a proud Noongar woman from Bunbury in the South West of Western Australia. After losing both her parents in tragic circumstances as a young child, Courtney used football to transform her life. Today, she plays in the VFLW league for the North Melbourne Werribee Kangaroos. Yet her ability on the field is nearly outweighed by her strengths off it.
Why book Courtney Ugle as your motivational speaker
Courtney quickly developed into more than a footballer. She became a spokesperson for domestic violence, resilience and overcoming adversity for people across the country. As a part-time community worker for Djirra, an Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention Service, she coordinates and delivers Young Luv. This is an early intervention and prevention workshop promoting healthy relationships for Aboriginal young girls and women.
Courtney is also the founder of Waangkiny, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through the power of storytelling. Its mission is to foster empowerment and transformation by leveraging storytelling and cultural understanding. Through Courtney’s work, it aims to create a ripple effect of positive change. As a result, people learn to turn pain into power.
Her football career speaks for itself. Courtney has been a WA State U/18s National Champion, a state captain for two consecutive years, an Essendon VFLW Captain and Vice Captain, and now plays for North Melbourne. In her keynotes, she covers wellbeing, diversity, inclusion, resilience and overcoming adversity. She draws directly on her own story of loss, sport and advocacy to bring these themes vividly to life for every corporate and community audience.
