Book Dr Kate Leeming, Keynote Speaker
Dr Kate Leeming keynote speaker presentations draw on three decades of world-first cycling expeditions across all seven continents, including 106,000km ridden on her major journeys – more than two and a half times the Earth’s circumference. In 2023 Kate was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to adventure sport, along with the Australian Geographic Society’s Spirit of Adventure award. She has also published two books and produced award-winning films and TV series screened around the world.
In 2010, Kate became the first person to cycle an unbroken line from Africa’s most westerly point to its most easterly point, covering 22,040km through twenty countries to highlight the causes and effects of extreme poverty. Earlier expeditions include the 13,400km Trans-Siberian Cycle Expedition, when she became the first woman to cycle unsupported across the new Russia. In 2023 she completed fatbike journeys across Antarctica’s Queen Maud Land and 8,617km from Cape Byron to Steep Point across Australia, and in August 2025 she rode 9,000km through Central Asia from Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan.
What Audiences Take Away
