Description
Glenn Cooper business speaker sessions come from the former Chairman of Coopers Brewery. Coopers is Australia’s largest Australian-owned brewery. Founded in 1862, it has stayed in the Cooper family for over 160 years. Glenn joined the business in July 1990 as Sales and Marketing Director. As a result, he became Chairman in 2001.

Under Glenn’s leadership, Coopers expanded its beer range significantly. Coopers Mild Ale, Dark Ale, Extra Strong Vintage Ale and Coopers Lager all launched during his tenure. He also played a pivotal role in the national growth of Coopers Original Pale Ale. Today, it’s one of Australia’s best known beers.

Book Glenn Cooper business speaker for your next conference or leadership event. His signature keynote, The Coopers Success Story, draws on 35 years as a Coopers Brewery board member. He served 22 of those years as Chairman. For example, audiences hear an honest account of how family and corporate strategy have evolved. Glenn also shares his views on why some family businesses succeed while others repeatedly fail.
The Kirin Takeover Battle
One of the most dramatic chapters in Glenn’s story is Kirin’s hostile takeover bid. The Japanese brewing giant launched its bid in September 2005. Kirin tried to acquire Coopers outright. In response, Glenn led the fight to keep the company independent. The bid ultimately failed. His keynote explores how a small family brewery beat one of the world’s largest beverage companies. He also covers the marketing wins and losses along the way.
Beyond Coopers
Glenn chaired the Australian Made Australian Grown Group from 2012 to 2021. He has held director roles with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Company and Haymes Paints Australia. In addition, he advised OBE Organic Beef Australia and the Maras Group of Developers. Earlier in his career, he chaired the Adelaide Fringe Committee and the Adelaide Convention and Tourism Authority.
In 2005, Glenn became a Member of the Order of Australia. The honour recognised his services to South Australia and the arts. Two years later, he completed the Kokoda Track, following in the footsteps of his uncle, Colonel Geoff Cooper.
