Matthew Caruana

Matt became paraplegic at 16 after attempting suicide. He has since turned the “worst day of his life” into his greatest years by forging his best-self to be an example of hope for others.

He is an ambassador for Lifeline Australia, Basketball NSW, and in 2023, he broke the Guinness World Record for the most towel pull-ups in one minute.

Having completed hundreds of speaking engagements, he also co-delivers programs on life-performance and well-being with his partnership in Seismic Jump.

Matt and 14 other Australians featured in John Brogden’s new book, “Profiles in Hope.” He also appeared alongside James Packer, Robbie Williams and Jacqui Lambie on Channel 7’s top-rating Spotlight TV program.

In 2023, Seismic Jump created Transform Hope Thru Action, a global social impact initiative partnering to turn aspirations into actualities within personal and professional sectors.

When Matt delivers presentations, he builds upon his story and discusses topics of mental health, resilience, trust (in oneself and others), fearlessness, and being one’s best.
