Dan is a communication expert, speaker and facilitator who works across multiple sectors to help organisations bring important ideas to life. Through his company, Daring Humans, he works in communication, collaboration, strategy and wellness to create engagement, clarity and connection. He holds degrees in Communication, English and Drama and has worked as a full-time lecturer / researcher at Charles Sturt University winning a faculty award for excellence and innovation.
Dan has a background in elite gymnastics, acting, stunts, circus and physical theatre which fuels his embodied approach to presenting and teaching. His experience ranges from designing corporate leadership programs to stunt doubling for Mark Wahlberg; performing in NBA Stadiums to coaching public speaking. He continues to practice as a handstand acrobat and share his passion for risk and balance with leaders and organisations.
Dan is also someone who has had to find and re-find balance in his life in quite dramatic ways. In his Talks, he shares his stories and the tools that have given him strength, awareness and resilience. His diverse experience in education, performance, business and health, has given him a unique perspective as a person who helps others develop high-performance cultures and consider what it is to be a ’daring human’.
A Career Built on Balance
Dan’s journey has taken him from designing corporate leadership programs to performing in NBA stadiums, from teaching medical educators to facilitating city-wide strategic plans, and from coaching business leaders through change to his ongoing work as a stunt double. At the heart of his approach is balance, not as a static ideal but as an active, practised skill, and he speaks with authenticity about resilience, strength and daring leadership. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dan has called Adelaide home for over twenty years, where he lives on the coast with his family.
