Jen Willis Motivational Speaker: Career and Background
Jen has spent more than 25 years working across education and leadership in Australia and internationally. She has stepped into senior leadership roles in educational organisations facing significant challenges, helping them reconnect with purpose, values and identity. During this time, she led a school through COVID. She also managed risk and experiential education at a large international school in South Korea, and lived and led within residential education communities of more than 100 people.
Across these environments, Jen became increasingly interested in the structural integrity beneath sustainable performance. This includes the values, relationships, beliefs, behaviours and systems that determine how people and organisations respond under pressure.
Jen holds master’s degrees in Education, Business Management and Leadership, and Positive Psychology. Additionally, she has completed extensive training in coaching and human development, and is now an NLP Trainer and a Social and Emotional Intelligence Coach.
Jen’s Everest journey was not straightforward. Her first attempt in 2023 fell short of the summit, reaching 8,000 metres before conditions forced her back. Instead, she returned home to confront what happens when a major goal is lost, and how that loss can destabilise identity itself. Eventually, she returned to the mountain and reached the summit on 18 May 2026, no longer needing it to define her.
Keynote Topics
Jen uses powerful personal stories as the entry point into bigger questions about possibility, identity, change and performance. Her sessions are deeply human, candid and sometimes confronting, while remaining practical and relevant to contemporary workplaces. Contact our team to check her availability.
If She Can Do That… challenges audiences to become curious about their own perceived limitations. Jen doesn’t promise that anything is possible; some limitations are real. The challenge is recognising the difference between limits we genuinely need to respect and the ones we’ve simply never thought to question. Audiences explore:
- How assumptions about identity shape what we attempt
- The difference between real constraints and perceived limitations
- How curiosity can expand possibility
- Why meaningful action often begins before confidence arrives
How Far Would You Go to Find Yourself? explores what happens when a role disappears, a plan fails, a career changes or the future we’d built towards suddenly isn’t available. Central to the keynote is Jen’s Identity Realignment Cycle™: Stability and Congruence, Trigger and Destabilisation, Disorientation and Discovery, Meaning Making and Integration, and Realignment and Action, before returning to Stability and Congruence. The goal isn’t to return to who we were before the trigger, but to move forward with greater congruence and stronger structural integrity. Audiences explore:
- Why change can destabilise identity as well as circumstances
- How to recognise where they are within the Identity Realignment Cycle
- The role of narrative and meaning-making during disruption
- Why moving forward isn’t necessarily the same as “bouncing back”
- How to build greater congruence into what comes next
The Stories That Shape Success explores the relationship between collective identity, organisational culture and sustainable human performance. Teams are challenged to examine who they say they are, who they are actually being, what holds them together when things become difficult, and where the cracks are between their values and their behaviour. Audiences explore:
- How collective identity influences organisational behaviour
- What disruption reveals about culture and values
- How gaps develop between stated values and lived experience
- Why strong foundations matter to sustainable performance
- How teams can realign identity, behaviour and direction after change
