What a Katrina Webb motivational speaker session covers

By the age of 18, Katrina had already secured a netball scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport. During training, doctors labelled a right sided weakness she had hidden since birth as cerebral palsy. As a result, her ability to pursue netball at a national level was suddenly in jeopardy. Despite this, a twist of fate presented an unseen opportunity. Katrina became eligible for the Paralympic Games. Her weakness became her greatest strength.

Katrina went on to win two gold medals and a silver medal at the Atlanta 1996 Games. At Sydney 2000, she added a silver and bronze medal. She was also the first torch bearer to enter the Olympic Stadium for the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. In 2006, the International Paralympic Committee selected her to present to the United Nations in New York.

Keynote theme: the alchemy of performance

In her keynote, The Alchemy of Performance, Katrina shares insight into her journey and unique high performance learnings. Specifically, audiences learn about the importance of mindfulness for wellbeing and reduced stress. They also discover the key elements of self mastery, including priority, energy and mind management. In addition, she teaches the skill of self compassion and how it supports recovery, mood and self worth. This extends to psychological flexibility for dealing with internal responses to stressors.

This keynote, also delivered as Leadership Alchemy, helps individuals unlock self mastery, wellbeing and whole leadership to empower purpose, performance and potential for impact. Specifically, it delivers mental health and wellbeing leadership skills through scientific approaches, spiritual insights, an elite sports mindset and proven methodologies.

Katrina is a global ambassador for the International Paralympic Committee and founder of Newday Leadership, a platform to inspire leadership for the greater good. She also founded and directs Silver 2 Gold High-Performance Solutions. Beyond the stage, Katrina has walked the Kokoda Track and trekked to Everest Base Camp twice.
